Stars 2013-14 Preseason Schedule Released

While the NHL still waffles about trying to figure out when to release the regular season schedule, the preseason schedule was just released.

Stars fans will get their first glance at the new look team on Sept. 15 against the St. Louis Blues before playing six more preseason games. Three of the games will be at home, and there will be a game played in both San Antonio and Oklahoma City.

Preseason Schedule

Sunday, Sept. 15

St. Louis Blues @ Dallas Stars

AAC (Dallas, TX) at 6 p.m.

The Stars’ first game gives them their first look at their brand new division foes in the St. Louis Blues. The Blues should be trying to figure out a good number of things as they try to work in a bunch of new centers (just like Dallas), including former Star Derek Roy.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

Florida Panthers @ Dallas Stars

AAC (Dallas, TX) at 7:30 p.m.

This will be the first visit for the Panthers to the Lone Star State since November of 2011. Stars fans will finally get to see Calder Trophy winner Jonathan Huberdeau in person and should get the added bonus of seeing 2013 No. 2 pick Aleksander Barkov as well.

Friday, Sept. 20

Dallas Stars @ Florida Panthers

AT&T Center (San Antonio, TX) at 7:30 p.m.

For anyone who missed that first game against Florida, here you go San Antonio. San Antonio is home to the Rampage, the AHL affiliate of the Panthers, so I guess the crowd will be pro-Florida.

Saturday, Sept. 21

Dallas Stars @ St. Louis Blues

Scottrade Center (St. Louis, MO) @ 7 p.m.

Finishing up the preseason home and away against the Blues.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

Dallas Stars @ Colorado Avalanche

Pepsi Center (Denver, CO) at 8 p.m.

Dallas fans won’t get to see the Avs in person here as the game is in Colorado, but they’ll get their first TV view of top pick Nathan MacKinnon and the new division foe Avs.

Thursday, Sept. 26

Colorado Avalanche @ Dallas Stars

AAC (Dallas, TX) at 7:30 p.m.

If anyone wants to see the start of MacKinnon’s career, now’s the time. Colorado has a porous defense, so the young Stars should have a good opportunity to make an impression in these two games.

Friday, Sept. 27

Dallas Stars @ Edmonton Oilers

COX Convention Center (OKC, OK) at 7 p.m.

This will be played in the home of the OKC Barons, the AHL affiliate of the Oilers. There should still be more Stars fans though and a  will be a good chance to get a first-hand look at Darnell Nurse.
