Terrell Owens still whining about Hall of Fame snub

In typical Terrell Owens fashion, Terrell Owens still has plenty to say about not getting into the Hall of Fame.

Weeks after newly-elected Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison said that Owens should stop complaining, Owens said on SiriusXM radio, via Pro Football Talk, that Hall of Fame induction “should be purely based on stats.”

Owens’ numbers are comparable to Harrison’s. He caught 1,078 passes (sixth all-time), had 15,934 receiving yards (second all-time) and 153 receiving touchdowns (third all-time) in a 15-year career. Harrison caught 1,102 passes (third all-time), had 14,580 receiving yards (seventh all-time) and 128 receiving touchdowns (fifth all-time) in a 13-year career and also has a Super Bowl ring.

Owens will eventually get into the Hall of Fame. He just wanted to be inducted on the first ballot. It’s an ego thing. That me-first attitude throughout his career is a big part of the reason why Owens has to wait and couldn’t go into the Hall in the same class as a receiver with similar numbers.

It’s also why Owens is calling for voters to ignore all that peripheral stuff that can destroy team chemistry and focus only on the stats.
