It’s kind of hard to believe that the reigning NL MVP and four-time All Star, Ryan Braun, had never hit three home runs in a single game before Monday night. It might be harder to believe that Braun finally accomplished the feat at the extremely pitcher-friendly PETCO Park (334-401-396-400-322′):

In Braun’s fourth at bat he only tripled to deep right center field, which very well could have been a fourth home run in many other ball parks. So in one night’s work, Braun became the first player to hit three homers in one game at PETCO — half as many homers as the Padres have hit in their own park this season — and became only the sixth player all-time to homer three times and hit a triple in the same game, the first to do it since Fred Lynn did it in 1975.
You can re-live Braun’s big night here.
