The longest homers for the week ending August 28th

This week’s list has a bit of a Mets vibe to it…of course, New York only benefited from the first homer you’re going to see on this list.

1. Lucas Duda vs Kevin Correia, 457 feet (August 24th)

Lucas Duda’s power stroke this season is one of the best things to happen in years for the Mets. He hit this one a long way up the Dodger Stadium bleachers.

2. Mike Napoli vs Sergio Santos, 451 feet (August 26th)

Shockingly, this is Mike Napoli’s first appearance on THE LIST this year. Look how damn far this ball went, though – to the highest deck at Rogers Centre, on almost a dead pull down the left field line. Absurd.

3. Ike Davis vs Adam Wainwright, 447 feet (August 27th)

All that prevented this Ike Davis homer from going into the Allegheny River was a speaker mounted on a pole in right center field at PNC Park…

4. Ike Davis vs Seth Maness, 442 feet (August 26th)

This homer was hit in almost the same spot as his blast the next day, which you just saw above. Ike Davis – consistency monster!

5. Billy Butler vs Colby Lewis, 436 feet (August 22nd)

Remember when Billy Butler was struggling and the Royals looked like they were going to move on from him? Yeah…good thing they didn’t. Look where this ball landed – BEYOND the seats in left field at Globe Life Park. Absurd.

Five longest homers of the year
1. Mike Trout vs Jason Vargas, 489 feet (June 27th)
2. Giancarlo Stanton vs Eric Stults, 484 feet (April 4th)
3. David Ortiz vs Masahiro Tanaka, 482 feet (April 22nd)
4. Justin Upton vs Jenrry Mejia, 477 feet (April 10th)
5. Hanley Ramirez vs Jorge de la Rosa, 472 feet (June 8th)
