The Dallas Cowboys don’t see a reason to rush into a decision when it comes to the debate concerning Tony Romo and Dak Prescott.
Prescott has played quite well during Romo’s absence and unexpectedly has the team rolling, causing some to suggest he should keep the job no matter when Romo returns.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys will consider all options:
On #Cowboys QB situation: A decision will come only when Tony Romo is 100% ready. Means Dak may start after the bye vs. PHI as they wait

#Cowboys stance is to remain open-minded until they have to make a call: With the way Dak has played, they have time to push back a decision

Sense I get is Dak has more support in #Cowboys locker room to keep the status quo than Romo has to change it. Romo hasn’t been around much.

The last note is rather damning, only fanning the growing flames that the Cowboys don’t have much of a decision to make here. Romo hasn’t been able to stay healthy for years. Throwing him back under center and disrupting an offense that has tallied a 4-1 record and the lead in the NFC East isn’t the best idea.
Though reports have suggested Prescott has “zero chance” of keeping the job once Romo returns to active duty, it appears the tide has started to turn.
Should the Cowboys keep winning, the tidal wave of momentum will keep pushing away the likelihood Romo takes the job back.
