DeAngelo Williams pokes fun at Terrelle Pryor’s optimism

DeAngelo Williams apparently has a little more time for social media now that LeVeon Bell is back.

The Steelers running back had some fun with the Browns after Terrelle Pryor said his 0-3 team is capable of winning the rest of its games.

“Maybe he was talking about Ohio State!” Williams wrote in a tweet that also included a screen grab of a headline that said “Browns to win out?”

Although Pryor did play for Ohio State, he was talking about the Browns. While his words could be interpreted to mean that he thinks the Browns will win out, he also could have been saying only that there are no automatic losses on the Browns’ schedule. They’d be in the win column if it weren’t for three missed field goals by Cody Parkey at Miami on Sunday.

Until the Browns actually start winning some games, they’ll be comedic targets whenever anyone associated with the team exudes any type of confidence.

Williams has filled in for the suspended Bell and is seventh in the NFL with 258 rushing yards. He started 10 games in Bell’s absence last season and ran for 907 yards, tying for the league lead with 11 rushing touchdowns. It’s scary to think where the Steelers would be without Williams, and his willingness to accept a diminished role when Bell is healthy makes him a breath of fresh air.

At the same time, Williams has to be more careful on social media. He poked fun at the Patriots numerous times during the offseason before turning his attention to the Browns Thursday. The bulletin-board material could be piling up in opposing locker rooms.
