Derrick Rose compares New York and Chicago fans

Chicago Bulls fans might want to look away.

It was easy for Bulls fans to scoff when Derrick Rose joined the New York Knicks and talked up his new locale as a super team.

Fine.

But now, Rose has gone a step further and compared the fans. The skinny, via NBPA’s Jared Zwerling:

I was feeling a lot of love. You feel that a little bit in Chicago, but it’s not on that level of New York, so it kind of makes you anxious to actually get on the court. It’s, like, ‘Man, they’re excited that I’m actually there.’ I haven’t even picked up a ball yet, I haven’t made a basket yet, and I can only imagine how they’re going to act when we start winning.

Rose has every right to anticipate his hyped arrival to New York. This tidbit, though, seems to suggest Chicago isn’t as passionate as New York fans when it comes to basketball.

Odd, but Rose was a bit of a national punchline here and there for his inability to stay on the court. A change of scenery has created a new hype around his arrival, whether the jab at Chicago fans is warranted or not.

Rose’s return to Chicago on Friday, November 4, can’t get here soon enough.
