The tributes to Sam Foltz by Nebraska’s opponents this season have been incredibly touching.
Before the game on Saturday, Illinois special teams players presented Nebraska with a Foltz Illini jersey signed by the entire team.
Although he never knew Foltz, Illinois long snapper Michael Martin has a few kind words to say about Nebraska’s former punter.

Foltz died in a car accident in July along with former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler. Big Ten teams are using commemorative coins to honor the punters in addition to gestures like these.
