Josh Norman ‘sips tea’ on Julio Jones burning Panthers

The Falcons, Falcons fans and Julio Jones fantasy owners all loved Jones’ 12-catch, 300-yard game on Sunday.

You know who else loved it? Josh Norman.

“I’m just gonna sip my tea on that one,” the Redskins cornerback told CSN Mid-Atlantic via NFL.com, invoking the Kermit the Frog “None of my business” meme.

Jones still might have had himself a game if the Panthers hadn’t rescinded Norman’s franchise tag during the offseason. After all, Jones caught nine passes for 178 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ 20-13 win over the Panthers in Week 16 last year.

And it’s not like Norman made an immediate impact with the Redskins this season. They didn’t put him on the opponent’s top receiver until Week 3, when he allowed his buddy Odell Beckham Jr. to catch seven passes for 123 yards. But the Redskins won the game.

Norman had a bigger hand in the Redskins’ 31-20 win over the Browns Sunday. His interception in the fourth quarter set up the game-clinching touchdown. Norman is in a four-way tie for the league lead with eight passes defended.

Sunday’s victory evened the Redskins’ record at 2-2 while the Panthers fell to 1-3. That’s what matters most, so in that respect Norman can sip his tea and turn up his nose at his former team.

It would be hilarious if Norman drank tea with his pinky out.
