As Kobe Bryant’s career winds to a close, the 20-year veteran is doing more than just putting on a farewell tour. The future Hall of Famer took another step towards immortality on Thursday night against the Sacramento Kings, becoming the youngest player to reach 33,000 points.
Bryant joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387) and Karl Malone (36,928) as the only three players to reach 33,000-plus points in their career.
It’s fitting that Bryant reached the milestone against the Sacramento Kings, a team who he arguably has delivered some of his best moments against. In 62 career games against the Kings, the five-time NBA champion has averaged 26.7 points per game.
Bryant has scored more than 1,600 of his career points against the Kings, further putting his complete domination over the franchise on display. Here is the historic play that further cemented Bryant’s place amongst the greatest in NBA history.
