Mets turn defensive play of the year (video)

The Mets’ magic continued on Thursday night when they turned what might be the defensive play of the year thus far during their matchup with the Phillies.

In the tenth inning of the game, with the score tied at 5-5, Jeff Francoeur hit a ground ball up the middle which seemed like a surefire base hit. But pitcher Carlos Torres would have none of it, and he flicked the ball off his heel toward Daniel Murphy.

Murphy made a great snag, and then flipped the ball back to a sprinting Torres for the out.

You have to see it to believe it.

Just your standard 1-3-1 putout to end the inning. The Mets just keep on rolling.
