No one knew what Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett was going to say when he took the podium at Super Bowl XLIX Media Day.
Of course Bennett was going to be asked about when he hopped on a police bike and rode it around CenturyLink Field after the Seahawks defeated the Packers in the NFC Championship game. And he delivered a great response when asked about it.
“Black people can’t steal anything from the police, bad things happen. So I didn’t steal it, I borrowed it.”
Later, Bennett clearly wasn’t interested in answering a question pertaining to Deflategate. So after the reporter asked the question, Bennett questioned his sexuality.
“People get paid to test balls these days. It’s like that’s your job, to test balls. You’re into balls. You like—you love balls.”
He then answered a follow-up question by paying a compliment to his wife.
“I love my wife’s booty. I think my wife has the best butt of all time.”
And, last but not least, you have to hear Bennett’s scouting report on Patriots offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer. It’s short and sweet.
Michael Bennett on Vollmer: “He has that German strength”

Bennett has great character and delivers some of the most clever and funny answers to reporters’ questions on a routine basis. Many were surprised that Richard Sherman’s time at the podium was short and lacked any semblance of controversy—but Bennett certainly filled in for him and produced a few laughs in doing so.
