Mike Tolbert pays car shop $3,900 in coins after dispute

It’s a safe bet that Mike Tolbert won’t be doing any commericals for Motion Lab Tuning in Charlotte.

The Panthers fullback got into a heated exchange with his mechanic over a bill and paid $3,900 in coins, according to Jalopnik.

Tolbert claims in an Instagram post that the shop was two months late with an engine replacement and then tried to overcharge him because he’s a “millionaire.”

Motion Lab fired back on Facebook, saying that Tolbert expected the work to be done for free because he’s an NFL player.

The argument got so ugly that the police were called, and Tolbert was banned from the property. The police ordered him to pay his bill first, though, and Tolbert thought he he’d be making life difficult for the shop by paying $3,900 in coins.

The change was still sorted in boxes, however, so all Motion Lab had to do was take it to the bank.

It’s no laughing matter that the police had to get involved in this situation, but Tolbert’s teammates this week might tempted to ask him if he can break a dollar.
