Paul George makes awesome gesture to WNBA legend

Tamika Catchings, one of the greatest players in WNBA history, is retiring after this season. Her final regular season game is on Sunday when the Indiana Fever host the Dallas Wings at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Fever announced Thursday that Indiana Pacers star Paul George purchased 5,000 tickets to the game in an effort to pack the house and give Catchings the regular-season finale she deserves. Fans can collect up to four tickets per person beginning at noon on Friday.

In an Instagram post, George calls Catchings his “big sis” and says she is the reason he changed his number from 24 to 13 in 2014.

Catchings, an MVP, 10-time WNBA All-Star and five-time Defensive Player of the Year, won a championship with the Fever in 2012 and owns four gold medals from her stint with the U.S. Women’s Olympic Basketball team.
