Vanderbilt’s remarkable run concluded with a victory over No.3-ranked Virginia in Wednesday’s College World Series final, 3-2. The Commodores won its first CWS in the university’s history, but one particular pitcher still had an important task to cross off his list before he could really begin celebrating.
Commodores RHP Brian Miller proposed to his girlfriend on the field after the game, and the Twitterverse has since exploded.

Miller didn’t pitch in Wednesday’s game, but he certainly pitched a ‘perfect game’ after it concluded.
What a great moment for him and his girlfriend. This has a similar resemblance to when Boise State RB Ian Johnson proposed to his then-girlfriend, cheerleader Chrissy Popadics, after the team’s Fiesta Bowl victory over Oklahoma.
