Report: At least 3 teams have inquired about Arian Foster

Interest is starting to gain steam in free agent running back Arian Foster.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Foster has been contacted by “at least” three teams in the recent days or weeks. The 29-year-old running back was released by the Houston Texans this offseason after playing in only four games during an injury plagued 2015 season.

While still recovering from surgery to repair his torn Achilles, Foster “expects” to be healthy by the start of training camps, which begin for NFL teams around the end of July.

Early in June, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Foster will likely begin working out for teams in “late July.” He is now in the process of “evaluating” fits among interested teams, with Foster not shying away from situations in which he’d be expected to share the load with another running back.

The oft-injured back could use the reduced workload.

Since 2012, Foster has missed 23 games. He’s played in only 25.

But when healthy, Foster has game-changing talent. Over 13 healthy games in 2014, the former undrafted free agent produced almost 1,600 total yards and 13 touchdowns. Foster caught 22 passes in just four games last season.

A number of teams could make sense for Foster, including the Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders. He should have a new team at some point before or during training camp.
