Seahawks reportedly sign RB C.J. Spiller

With Thomas Rawls expected to miss multiple weeks, the Seattle Seahawks have signed former Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints running back C.J. Spiller, as first reported by Rand Getlin.

Spiller, who was released by the Saints earlier this month, worked out for the Green Bay Packers last week and the New York Jets on Tuesday before signing with the Seahawks.

Spiller rushed for 112 yards and caught 34 passes for 239 yards last season with New Orleans. His best season came in 2012 with the Bills when he rushed for 1,244 yards and caught 43 passes for 459 yards while scoring eight touchdowns.

The 29-year-old former first-round pick adds depth to a Seahawks backfield that will be missing Rawls for 5-6 weeks with a fibula injury.
