Snoop Dogg blasts Josh Scobee on Instagram

The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely be on the hunt for a new kicker after Josh Scobee shanked kicks from 49 and 41 yards out in the team’s 23-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football.

Scobee was having a subpar season by kickers’ standards heading into the Week 4 matchup, having made only four of six kicks thus far this season. With the Steelers starting backup quarterback Michael Vick under center, it was clear that there was little room for error.

But Scobee was not just bad in the game, he was terrible. He did make his first two kicks in the first half from 45 and 36 yards out, although they weren’t pretty. But late in the fourth quarter, with the game on the line, Scobee looked shaky attempting two crucial field goals, and did not make either one.

With just over two minutes remaining in the game, and the Steelers clinging to a 20-17 lead and looking to build on it, Scobee missed wide left from 49 yards out. He was given another chance to redeem himself and make life very difficult for the Ravens from 41 yards out and just 1:06 remaining in the game, and he missed that one, too.

On the other side of the ball, it was business as usual for Justin Tucker. He drilled a game-tying kick from 42 yards out at the end of regulation, and then nailed the game-winner from 52 yards out in overtime to give the Ravens a 23-20 victory and prevent the team from being winless heading into Week 5.

Steelers fans, understandably, were irate due to Scobee’s poor performance, and they took to social media to voice their frustration. Rapper Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion) brought the heat on Instagram and said the Steelers need to “get his a out of here,” among other things, in an explicit rant.

Coach Snoop has spoken. It’s time for the Steelers to part ways with Scobee, which could happen on Friday.
