Stephen Colbert challenged reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry to a shootout during Monday night’s edition of The Late Show, but it wasn’t the traditional shooting contest you’d have expected.
Colbert knew he had to level the playing field a bit if he wanted to stand a chance at competing against Curry. The Warriors guard is one of the best pure shooters in the NBA right now. We’ve seen him go on hot stretches where he literally does not miss a shot, like when he hit 77 consecutive three-pointers in practice earlier in the year.
So rather than shooting a basketball, Colbert proposed that they use laundry instead. And that’s when their game of hamper basketball began.
The shooting contest went to sudden death, with both Stephens hitting their shots. We’ll have to score this one a tie.
