Steve Smith goes off about NFL’s Top 100 list

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith has never been one to shy away from criticism, and when he feels he’s being wronged or sold short, he speaks his mind.

So when the NFL Network released the majority of its Top 100 list (players ranked No. 1 through No. 10 will be revealed on Wednesday night) and Smith wasn’t on it, teammate Justin Forsett weighed in.

The Ravens running back wasn’t the only one to share his thoughts about the list, though. As expected, Smith chimed in, and his response was just as great as we’d have expected.

Smith does make a good point. Even with having his season cut short due to injury, he still averaged 14.6 yards per catch in the seven games he played in. With Jarvis Landry, Jeremy Maclin and Allen Hurns all making the list, it’s a wonder why Smith wasn’t on it.

It’s no secret that the list, which is supposedly voted on by the players, is a joke. DeMarco Murray ranked No. 4 on last year’s edition. He then went on to have an abysmal season in 2015, averaging only 3.6 yards per carry and scoring six touchdowns.

This could, very well, be Smith’s final season in the NFL, and the 16-year veteran will likely be on a mission to prove his doubters wrong.
