Texans HC Bill O’Brien starts charity swear jar for cursing on ‘Hard Knocks’

When mama isn’t happy then nobody’s happy. So when Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien’s mother wasn’t happy with all his cursing on HBO’s Hard Knocks, he had to do something to get back in her good graces.

He didn’t stop swearing, but he has started a swear jar, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston ChronicleThe proceeds from the jar will benefit the Texans’ foundation.

While O’Brien’s mother may prefer he stop swearing, she can’t argue with money going to charity for every F-bomb. She might even encourage him to swear a bit more. Okay, maybe not, but at least she probably won’t do any more news interviews about her son’s colorful language.

As far as the players? They love it. Rookie tight end Khari Lee did an impression of O’Brien that included a few curse words as a promo for the show that had the entire team laughing.

Everyone wins. O’Brien’s mom is happy and he can keep swearing. The team can even keep using profanity in playful imitations of their head coach, Best of all, plenty of money will go to a charity that supports the Houston Texans YMCA, the Houston Boys and Girls Club of Houston and the Houston Food Bank.
