Tim Tebow to speak at Republican National Convention

Donald Trump and Tim Tebow?

Sounds crazy, but here it is—according to the New York TimesJeremy W. Peters, Tebow will speak at the Cleveland Republican National Convention next week alongside other notable names such as UFC President Dana White.

Maybe it’s not such a surprise to see Tebow on the list. He’s well known for his religious values and conservative ideals, two factors helping him to gain a gigantic following upon arriving in the NFL with the Denver Broncos.

Tebow currently suits up for ESPN at SEC Network after a failed NFL comeback last September where he didn’t make the final 53-man roster in Philadelphia.

By all accounts this is a good move for Trump. Any press is good press and ignoring the obvious overlap, Tebow’s name will draw more and more viewers to the event, presumably giving Trump a bigger turnout and audience than expected.

So while this maybe seemed like a wild headline a year ago, it’s almost normal now. In other words, 2016 in a nutshell.
