Titans vs. Dolphins still unmoved despite Hurricane Matthew

Hurricane Matthew continues to barrel toward the East coast, yet the NFL hasn’t said much about the contest between the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphis.

The NFL undoubtedly continues to monitor the situation, with a one-day delay or even two-day delay possible.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the league has yet to make a decision.

There’s an outside chance the NFL decides to move the game to Tennessee, something Titans coach Mike Mularkey suggested on a radio show before backpedaling in an interview with the Tennessean:

“I haven’t been involved with that,” Mularkey said. “All I know internally, we always have plans for all away games, and this one, just with the weather conditions down there, you’ve got to talk through the what-ifs if that happens. So I don’t know anything about what’s going on with the NFL.

That would be rather unfair, though, gifting the Titans a ninth game at home due to a storm. Odds are better the NFL seeks a neutral site, which stinks for all involved, but would do the job. The problem there is actually finding an available one on short notice, something not so easy even for the NFL.

Expect an announcement soon one way or another as the storm continues to develop.
