Mark Richt closed a recruit with a trip to Krispy Kreme

When Four-star prospect Sam Madden decommitted from Wisconsin, a few teams jumped at the chance to get him on their squad. The Georgia Bulldogs were the first to get him to take a visit and according to 11alive, a trip to Krispy Kreme helped Mark Richt and Georgia seal the deal:

Late Friday night, Dave Madden, Sam’s father, and Richt decided to head over to Krispy Kreme and grab a few donuts before they tuckered out for the evening. According to Derek Cleveland, the father of Class of 2016 five-star lineman Ben, who was also at Georgia this weekend, said it really let the Madden family know they picked the right place.

“I know one of the things that Dave said Friday night after they kind of settled down a little bit, was he and Mark Richt went to Krispy Kreme to get some donuts,” Cleveland said. “He thought that was just the coolest thing in the world that the head coach at Georgia would just take time and they would do that.”
