Notre Dame’s new artificial field is (nearly) complete

The legendary playing surface at Notre Dame Stadium is no more. This offseason the Irish made the switch from a natural field to an artificial playing surface. The installation of the new FieldTurf began shortly after spring graduation ceremonies and has been completed. It even sports a fancy Notre Dame logo at midfield. Yard line numbers still need to be painted on the field, it appears.

This ain’t your grandfather’s Notre Dame folks. It is a new era.
