Utah State QB Darell Garretson to transfer

Earlier this off-season it was announced that the enigmatic Chuckie Keeton was granted an additional year of eligibility at Utah State. This was great news for USU and for college football.

But, sometimes great news for one person is bad news for another person. Four quarterbacks saw action for the Aggies last year and with Keeton returning along with rising junior Darell Garretson and rising sophomore Kent Myers, the writing was likely on the wall for one of those young talents.

It was announced today that Garretson has left the program and will seek a transfer.

Last year, Garretson was the leading passer for the Aggies throwing for 1,140 yards on 67.4% completions with 8 TD vs 3 INT. He also led them to a win over BYU.

Garretson is from Arizona so it will be interesting to see if he pops up with a program in that area of the country.
