Cat Tracks (3/17/16): Florida Panthers (4) @ Toronto Maple Leafs (1)

Panthers wrap up a 2-1-0 three game road trip in weird fashion. An own goal by Ben Smith. A deflection from below the goal line. Two empty net goals. Not exactly what you would call standard.

Each period of this game was pretty different. The first period was very evenly played. Neither team was really getting the upper hand. The second was a strong effort, seeing the Panthers pull ahead. The third period was decidedly in favor of the Leafs. They challenged the Cats for much of the 3rd, until Jagr and Purcell were able to tally empty netters.

GREEN: Jokinen was able to score twice without directly shooting the puck in the net. That’s very… odd. But I’ll take it!

YELLOW: Congrats to Roberto Luongo on his 2nd 30 win season with the Florida Panthers. Only Tomas Vokoun in 2007-08 has won at least 30 games in a season.

RED: Florida Panthers are the fastest to 40 wins.
