Eyes on the Prize

According to the president of the team Matt Caldwell, they are primarily focusing on the giving themselves a win of the targeted and the most prestigious Stanley Cup. The Florida Panthers were first bought about three years ago by the Vinnie Viola and the first words to leave his mouth were about all the various things that he wishes to do for his franchise and his very own South Florida.

He has also said that his team had made him quite proud in the previous years, the last year has, in fact, turned out to be quite the turnaround year with them making it to the playoffs for the first time in quite a long time. The moves they have achieved during the offseason has also been pretty good.

An Inconsistent Performer

However, while working with the great Gerard Gallant as their coach, their team had quite the expectations from him, which unfortunately were not being fulfilled and they had to let him go. The meeting which the management team of the Florida Panthers had at the mark of their 20 games have made them quite discontent and unhappy with the inconsistent performance which the team had been showing for quite some time now.

They thought that the team ought to have played better at the present stage in the game season and thus they deemed it necessary to change their course of the path and follow a different direction altogether.

Gallant, the ex-head coach of the Florida Panthers has compiled a record of about 96-65-25 over a period of two whole seasons. He had a percentage of about .583 points which is the highest point anyone had ever scored in the entire history of the Panthers. In fact, the last season saw him be first runner up for the position of the Jack Adams coach of the year.
