Fasano and teammates didn’t like the ‘Hard Knocks’ news

It’s never too early to start finding divisions in a locker room or between players and team administrators. It seems that the Dolphins have their own internal dispute.

Tight end Anthony Fasano told Bob Papa and Ross Tucker of SeriusXM NFL Radio that he wasn’t happy when he heard that his team would be the subject of HBO’s popular series, Hard Knocks. Fasano told the pair, “I wasn’t too thrilled to tell you the truth. I think we were informed at a team meeting and there were a lot of groans when it was announced. But we’re going to have to deal with it and try not to let it be a distraction.  But it’s going to be fun for the fans and should be interesting to see, even for some of the players, behind the scenes of the team.”

From a player’s perspective, Fasano is dead on. The show’s only side effect can be in distracting the Dolphins, and it really can’t bring them together. On the other hand, it seems as if the players, at least Fasano, realize that the team needs to build fan interest, and the show is a very unique way of doing that. Yes, the show will likely distract some players, but there are always distractions at this level. Players and coaches will just have to deal with.
