Miami Dolphins 19,New York Jets 17 – The End by the Beatles

This game was the end of a great career and the end of one team’s playoffs hopes. While Jason Taylor will be remembered as one of the greatest Miami Dolphins of all time and a potential hall of famer, Rex Ryan will be remembered as a person who talks too much. The Jets had their loud mouths closed as the Dolphins stepped up in the second half rallying in an emotional game.

The game ended in perfect fashion for the Phins as Taylor’s teammates carried him off the field on their shoulders in the glory of a hard fought victory.

In other news, Sanchez is a terrible QB, and Santonio Holmes may have been a poor choice as captain.

New York Giants 31, Dallas Cowboys 14 – Show me the way by Peter Frampton

The Giants got off to a quick start and dominated the Cowboys early in the game as the Bradshaw + Jacobs combo was very effective against a nonexistent Dallas D.  The Dallas cornerbacks once again decided not to show up this Sunday, leading to another breakout game for Giants receiver Victor Cruz.

Despite facing a 21-0 halftime deficit, the Cowboys started the second half on fire scoring a quick 14 points but then a shady decision by Jason Garrett to go for it on 4th down led to no points. Eli Manning responded by leading his team down the field to regain control with a 10 point lead.

Victor Cruz (the ultimate pro bowl snub) and Eli Manning are showing the Giants the way back to the playoffs and The Cowboys are going home in yet another disappointing year of wasted talent.

Green Bay 45 Detroit 41 – For Those About To Rock We Salute You by AC/DC

In a game that didn’t really mean that much, the fans were provided with A plus entertainment with 1,000 yards of combined passing.

The power house Packer offense didn’t slow down despite the fact that Aaron Rodgers didn’t play.  Free Agent QB Matt Flynn made a VERY strong case that he has all the tools to be a starting QB in this league. As far as auditions go, Flynn’s could not have gone more perfectly.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions made a statement of their own on offense as they ready for their first playoff appearance in twelve years. Fans can hope for a rematch in two weeks, if the Lions get past the Saints.

Jacksonville 19 Indy 13- We are the champions by Queen

While I don’t have any in-depth analysis for this game, the important thing to take from this game was not how each team played but whether the Colts would lose or not. Well, lose is exactly what they did.

A 2-14 season makes the Colts the world champions of the Andrew Luck sweepstakes, enjoy your loss, it will be celebrated for many years to come in Indy!

Hope all you enjoyed this weekly Rock and Rock recap segment , we will continue to provide it for you in the playoffs and look forward to a fun post season after a solid year of football.
