Donald Driver

Is this the end for Donald Driver?

Is this the end for the Packers all time leading receiver in both yards and receptions.

4 time pro bowler, Super Bowl champ, former Green Bay Packers team MVP, a Packers Water Payton Man of the year award winner, 59 receiving touchdowns, over 10,000 receiving yards and countless Lambeau Leaps.

Donald Driver has made quite the career for himself in Green Bay catching balls from Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. The former 7th round draft pick has been the true definition of a hard working professional who came to work every day and played his heart while having a little fun at the same time.

That being said it sure seems like this is it for Driver, Driver only saw the field for 3 snaps this past Sunday receiving no reception or even targets. The Packers wide out group is very deep and with the emerging 2nd year Randall Cobb it would be surprising if Driver saw much of the field this season.

Going into week 2 there is a chance Greg Jennings misses the game with a lingering groin injury. This would present a chance for Driver to see more action and it could be the last time we see Driver grab a reception.

While Drivers career is probably not hall of fame worthy, he will retire like Hines Ward as a receiver who played his whole career with one organization and gave them everything he had. Driver was loved by his teammates and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Driver honored in some fashion in Green Bay when it’s all said and done.
