Colts Blow It Up; Polians Out, Caldwell Could Follow

After an evening and a morning of speculation, Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that a league source is saying Jim Irsay is cleaning house in Indianapolis, including the firing of Bill and Chris Polian.

While it’s not specifically noted in the tweet, I think it’s safe to assume that Jim Caldwell is included in the house cleaning, leaving a large task for Irsay as he begins to move the franchise back in the right direction.

Jim Caldwell participated in his usual Monday presser earlier in the day suggesting that he may not be out the door just yet. Many questioned the reasoning behind holding that press conference especially considering that Caldwell didn’t apparently know much more than anyone else about his own job status.

A press conference has been scheduled for 5 PM EST with Colts’ owner, Jim Caldwell. Presumably, he’ll be announcing any moves that the Colts plan to make at that time. The handling of this situation has been confusing to say the least, but it’ll likely be cleaned up by Jim Irsay this evening. Stay tuned.
