NFL week 1 rock stars

Last year we brought you our weekly rock and roll recaps, well we decided to change things up a bit this season yet still brining back those classic rock and roll tracks that everyone loves to listen to. That being said, since we already start with the some change this season we also be getting more use out of the jukebox this season using all musical genres. It’s great to have football back on Sundays and it was a fun Sunday to kick off the season. Some teams came out with a fire and others still need a bit more time to mesh. This week like most featured a couple of special performances that stood out. In case you were focused on only watching your team play this Sunday here are a couple of players that made headlines the first week of the season.

Peyton Manning – Without Me by Eminem

Guess whose back, back again…Peyton’s back tell your friends. Peyton didn’t miss a beat after missing over a year of football only to comeback and pick a part one of the best defenses in the league. Manning took over his familiar no huddle offense and looked just like well…Peyton Manning. Manning gets his Bronco’s off to a great start already having the media believing this team can contend for a Super Bowl. Manning storyline was probably the number 1 story line in week 1 after all the Manning watch this season it seems Manning is just fine.

Robert Griffin the Third (RG3) – Young, Wild & Free by Wiz Khalifa

Andrew Luck 3 interceptions, Ryan Tannehill 3 interceptions, Brandon Weeden 4 interceptions….RG3 2 touchdowns no interceptions while outplaying Drew Brees and beating the New Orleans Saints. Not too shabby for the 2nd overall pick. RG3 looks absolutely awesome week one, throwing on the run, moving around and getting the ball to his receivers. RG3 had everyone thinking early that we might be in store for a Cam Newton like rookie year from RG3. This kid was young, wild and free Sunday and I can tell Dan Schneider must be loving it.

JJ Watt – Animal by Def Leppard

JJ Watt had one of the most dominant week 1’s but I am sure will get the least amount of media attention on this list. Watt was tore about the Dolphins offensive line, Watt had 1.5 sacks…batted down 3 passes and caused 2 INT’s.  Watt is going to be a staple in the Texans impressive defense, looking like he will be a regular in Hawaii or wherever the Pro Bowl will be played.

Adrian Peterson – I Won’t Back Down by Tom Petty

Adrian Peterson promised to the purple people eaters that he would be back and ready for week 1 after his season ending knee injury last season. AP proved he is every bit of the freakish athlete we thought he was gaining 84 yards on the ground and reaching pay dirt twice. AP’s quick recovery is truly remarkable, defining odds and helping the Vikings get out to a 1-0 start.
