News travels fast on Twitter. Sometimes faster than the people in those news stories themselves.
Adam Schefter, who has more flies on more walls than anyone else in the NFL reporting game, tweeted this evening: “Buffalo Bills and WR Stevie Johnson are on the verge of a five-year contract that is likely to be completed in the next 24 hours.” The usual influx of congratulatory tweets, snide comments and the like came flooding in.
Cue Stevie Johnson’s response, twenty minutes later:
Unless Schefter is unusually misinformed, Stevie’s first check-in on Twitter on an otherwise lazy Sunday just gave him a pretty nice surprise. It also answers Buffalo’s burning question this offseason.
