Week 3 NFL rock stars

Week 3 was a wild and crazy week full of breakout performances and crazy upsets. I guess it’s safe to expect the unexpected week in and week out in the NFL. With that being said it’s time to take the rust off the old jukebox and find out who are week 3 NFL Rock stars are.

Torrey Smith – 6 catches for 127 yards and 2 TD’s – I’ll Be Missing You by P Diddy

In a special and meaningful performance, Torrey smith remembered his brother in the way he knew best having one of the best games of his young NFL career. Smith was electric seemingly getting past the Patriots secondary with ease and coming up with several huge catches.  Smith performance was touching as it seems everyone but Patriots fans were hoping he would come out with a great game and Smith definitely delivered.

Jamal Charles – 288 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown – Back In Time by Pitbull

As we predicted earlier in the week, Jamal Charles finally broke out and he did it in style including a 91 yard scamper down the field for a score. Charles looked explosive dusting off any doubt if the former stud of 2 years ago would comeback. Charles potentially saved the Chiefs season as 0-3 is almost a death sentence in the NFL. If Charles can find his former form the Chiefs might be able to get back into the discussion in the AFC.

Larry Fitzgerald – 9 catches 114 yards and a TD – Fly Like An Eagle by Steve Miller Band

Fitz had gotten off to a fairly quiet start to the season to say the least however he returned to the Larry Fitzgerald we all know and love this week. Fitz continued his dominance against the Eagles as the Cardinals are now an unexpected 3-0.

Christian Ponder – 198 yards – 2 TD’s 94.7 QB rating –How Do You Like Me Now by Toby Keith

Not going to lie, I have never heard this song in my life as I am not much of a country guy however I know many are so why not. Christian Ponder quietly has his Vikings at 2-1 after a huge upset over the 49ers. While Ponder wasn’t electric or unbelievable he was solid and mistake free. Ponder was able to manage his team and play a good enough game to lead his team. Ponder doesn’t get spoken about much but the former FSU QB has looked pretty poised early this season.

Honorable mention: Eli Manning, AJ Green, JJ Watt and Tony G
