Last night the United States' legal system sent shockwaves across the country when George Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges arising from the death of Travon Martin. Naturally, there were plenty of angry tweets. Falcons receiver Roddy White was among those outraged that took to Twitter.

To say that such rhetoric is frowned upon by the NFL, which is constantly battling an image problem of its own, would be an understatement. Possibly at the encouragement of the Falcons, his agent or maybe just a cooler head prevailing, White apologized for the angry tweets.

While the NFL certainly didn't appreciate such tweets pouring in from players, there's really nothing that they could, or would want, to do about it in terms of disciplinary action. These are players that represent the NFL whether they want to or not, but the situation is so sensitive, the NFL will be more than happy to let it cool down.
