Davante Adams was the Green Bay Packers second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and many thought that it was a stretch to take him with all of the other needs that they had. Many of the fans were upset with the selection, and thought that the Packers should have waited until later in the draft to take a wide receiver. Following the 2014 season, most of those fans had changed their tune about the talented wide receiver out of Fresno State.
It was a slow start to the season for Adams, but it didn’t take long for his time to come. Adams slowly started working his way onto the field, and began earning Aaron Rodgers’ trust as well. By the end of the season, Adams was one of Rodgers’ go-to guys and was a big-time playmaker for Green Bay.
As a rookie, Adams ended up catching 38 passes for 446 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season. He stepped his game up during the Packers’ divisional playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, when he caught seven passes for 117 yard and a touchdown. Without him being on the field, there is a good chance that the Packers could have been heading home rather than to Seattle for a date with the Seahawks in the NFC Championship game.
Due to the excitement at the end of his rookie season, Adams has been listed as a breakout candidate in 2015. He is expected to receive quite a bit of usage by the Packers, and will be an excellent number three receiver behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.

What can the Packers and their fans expect to see from the second-year wide receiver this coming season?
First of all, they can expect to see the player that showed up late in the season and was an absolute dominant force. He rounded out the Packers offense perfectly, and will do so once again during the 2015 season. Having an entire offseason to perfect his game will make him even more dangerous of a weapon as well.
Adams is without question going to be a much more potent receiver from a statistical standpoint. There is no doubt that he will be seeing those stats rise in a big way, and will prove himself to be a legitimate starting caliber receiver. Even though he is behind both Cobb and Nelson on the depth chart, Rodgers will target him and view him like an equal to those two stars.
Trying to estimate a stat line for any player in any sport before the season begins isn’t easy. Despite that difficulty, it would be safe to estimate that Adams will catch at least 65-70 passes for 800 yards and at least six touchdowns. He could end up blowing those numbers away, but for right now that is a fair expectation for Green Bay fans.
At just 22 years old, the future is extremely bright for Adams with the Packers. There isn’t anything that can hold him back from being as good as he wants to be, and this season will show that fact. Expect to see him come through with a big season, and to help the Packers get back to the playoffs for another run at a Super Bowl appearance.
