5 Bold Predictions for Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers in 2015

Aaron Rodgers has proved himself to be the best quarterback in the NFL, and there aren’t many fans or analysts that will argue against that statement. He is the reigning league MVP, and is still stinging from their heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game last season. Looking ahead to 2015, he is ready to get his team back to that point, and hopefully take them over the hump and to another Super Bowl appearance.

Green Bay is without question one of the top contenders to win Super Bowl 50, and a big reason for them being one of the elite teams in the NFL is their quarterback.

There is no question that the Packers have put a ton of talent around Rodgers. He has targets like Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams to throw to, and Eddie Lacy on the ground to help take pressure off of him. Not many quarterbacks are blessed with that type of talent around them, but he makes his teammates better as well.

During the 2014 season, Rodgers ended up compiling 4,381 yards, 38 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Even though he got off to a rough start, he was able to take his own advice and R-E-L-A-X the rest of the season.

All of that being said, Rodgers is going to have to come through with another monster season in 2015 in order to lead his Packers to the promised land. He is one of the favorites to win the MVP award, and it would be impressive to win it in back-to-back seasons. What five bold predictions can be made about Rodgers as the season continues to draw closer?

1. Aaron Rodgers Throws At Least 40 Touchdowns

Anytime a quarterback hits the 40 touchdown mark, it is a season to be respected. It takes a special talent to put up those kind of numbers, but that is exactly what Rodgers is going to do this coming season. He has the necessary targets around him, and he has proven in the past that he can do it with a 45 touchdown season in 2011.

2. He Throws for At Least 4,500 Yards

To this point in his career, Rodgers has only had one season where he has thrown for 4,500 yards or more. It isn’t very often that quarterbacks are able to be as dominant throughout the course of an entire season as it takes to make this kind of damage through the air. Even though it is one of the hardest seasonal stats for a quarterback to reach, Rodgers is going to come through with a monstrous season and top this mark.

3. Green Bay Ends Up with a 13-3 Record Behind Their QB

Looking ahead at the schedule for the Packers in 2015, it is going to be extremely difficult for them to figure out a way to end up with a 14-2 record. Rodgers will have to step up and be a very vocal leader throughout the season, especially during the first four games of the regular season that see them facing the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. They have quite a few tough games to play this year, but Rodgers will rise to the challenge and dominate for his team to help power them to a 13-3 regular season record.

4. Aaron Rodgers Wins Back-to-Back MVP’s

Perhaps the most obvious bold prediction heading into the 2015 season is that Rodgers is able to come away with the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award once again. He was chosen to be the MVP last season, although many thought that J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans should have won. Rodgers will have a better offense around him than he did last season with the emergence of Adams, and will force the NFL’s hand into awarding him with his second consecutive award.

5. Rodgers Leads Green Bay to a Super Bowl 50 Win

Finally but definitely not least important, is the prediction that Rodgers will lead his Green Bay squad to a Super Bowl 50 win. They have been building each year for the opportunity to get back to the Super Bowl, and Rodgers is very confident already that the team they have built is capable of winning everything in 2015. It is going to be a very long and difficult season, but Rodgers will lead his team to glory and bring the Lombardi Trophy back home.
