Russell Wilson on Seahawks: ‘We’ll be just fine on offense’

The Seattle Seahawks are without question one of the best teams in the NFL and they are led by star quarterback Russell Wilson. There are some question marks surrounding their offense with the 2015 season about to get underway, but Wilson is not concerned about any of the troubles that the media has brought up about them.

“Ultimately, we have to finish drives. That’s on me. But we’ll hit ’em,” Wilson said. “We’ll be just fine. So I’m excited about it. … I definitely think I’m ready. Can’t wait to play. We are definitely moving the ball,” he added. We just need to finish. That’s the most important thing. And we will.”

During the 2014 season with the Seahawks, Wilson ended up throwing for 3,475 yards, 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Those numbers showed even more development in Wilson’s game, and he still picked up 849 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

At 26 years old, Wilson still has plenty more potential to grow into over the next few seasons.

Seattle went out and improved their offense in a big way with the trade for star tight end Jimmy Graham. He is going to be the best target that Wilson has had to work with since joining the Seahawks. There is no denying the fact that Wilson is one of the league’s top young quarterbacks, and the Seahawks’ offense is in good hands moving forward.

Pete Carroll and the Seahawks have the talent on paper to make a run at another Super Bowl appearance. They will have to go through teams like the Green Bay Packers in the NFC, but after seeing Jordy Nelson go down for the season with a torn ACL that task looks easier than it was last season. That being said, it is far from a sure thing.

Wilson’s confidence is something that should be contagious for the rest of the Seattle offense. They are without question capable of taking their game to a new level, and finishing off drives with touchdowns will come with more experience.

Expect to see the Seahawks get things figure out offensively and become one of the NFL’s most dangerous teams as the 2015 regular season gets underway. It won’t be easy for teams to go up against Wilson and the Seattle offense, but they will have some holes. Wilson will have to take leadership for the Seahawks and be the primary playmaker that they need in order to overcome those issues.
