Sam Bradford reportedly looks ‘great’ for Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles made a big move to acquire quarterback Sam Bradford this past offseason, and shipped away talented quarterback Nick Foles in the deal. It was a move that left quite a few Eagles’ fans scratching their heads and wondering what head coach Chip Kelly was doing. Now that Bradford is beginning to get healthy as the season approaches, fans may be preparing to switch their opinions on the trade.

According to a report from NFL.com, the Eagles have liked what they have seen from Bradford and he has looked “great” and should be ready to go for training camp.

Needless to say, that is great news for the Eagles after hearing that he looked hobbled just over a month ago during OTA’s. Philadelphia is still searching for one of their quarterbacks to step up and prove that he is the worthy starter, and many believe that Bradford will do just that. He certainly has the potential to become something special for the Eagles, which is a big reason why he was the number one overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

It will be very interesting to see what he looks like when training camp officially opens up. He is going to have to beat out both Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow for the starting job, which shouldn’t be that much of an issue assuming he’s back to full health.

At 27 years old, there is still plenty of time for Bradford to get his career turned around with the Eagles. Assuming he is able to get his mind right and focus on the football field rather than the two torn ACL’s that he has suffered, he should be just fine. Whenever a player goes down with that serious of an injury their mental state is a question mark.

Bradford is without question the guy that Kelly wants to start under center, and he has every intention of doing so unless something drastic changes. He acquired him while giving up Foles for one reason, and that reason isn’t to sit the bench.

Expect to see Bradford get his offseason turned around during training camp and to catch up to speed very quickly when he does get back on the field. Philadelphia still has quite a few question marks about Bradford and whether or not his health is at 100 percent, but he is ready to take the field and prove his doubters wrong. Bradford has the talent to become a very special quarterback, but it will take health and a good fit in the Eagles’ offense to make that happen.
