Jamie Moyer, Matt Stairs to join Phillies broadcast booth

According to Todd Zolecki, he reports that former Phils Jamie Moyer and Matt Stairs will be joining the broadcast booth this upcoming season. Zolecki reports that Comcast SportsNet will announce this move as early as tomorrow.

This is a great move for the Phillies as both guys have broadcasting experience. Moyer has worked with ESPN, while Stairs has worked with NESN in Boston. Also it does not put pressure on one person as both guys impressed during their auditions.

According to sources, contracts are in the process of being finalized. If you remember, both players were a part of the 2008 World Series team. Moyer, the ageless wonder was one of the best pitchers on the Phils’ staff in the World Series. His slow pitches always fooled young hitters.

Finally, who couldn’t forget Matt Stairs, his towering home run that he hit in the NLDS to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers goes down in Phillies folklore history.

As of now we don’t know what the current setup will be with Tom McCarthy as the play-by-play announcer but it sure is exciting to think about.
