UConn Hockey’s Evan Richardson Playing Best Hockey of His Career

Despite the fact that the UConn Huskies men’s hockey team is struggling right now after four straight losses, Evan Richardson has been playing his best hockey in his career according to head coach Mike Cavanaugh.

Hopefully, the Huskies can get things back on the winning track tonight when they take on the Army Black Knights at the XL Center. You can catch the game on WTIC 1080-AM.

Video: UConn Women’s Basketball Coach Geno Auriemma Only Worried If Samuelson Stops Shooting

UConn Huskies women’s basketball freshman Katie Lou Samuelson didn’t have the best shooting preseason going 3-for-11 in each game.

Obviously there were some nerves in the first game. And in Sunday’s 80 point win over Vanguard, it could have been a combination of the bigger ball and longer three-point line with the experimental rules in place.

Either way, Samuelson isn’t worried. But even more importantly, head coach Geno Auriemma isn’t concerned either.

He’d actually be worried if Samuelson stopped shooting.

Many thanks to UCTV and UCTV Sports for helping me out and providing the video for Geno Auriemma’s press conference.

Video: UConn’s Brimah, Gibbs Providing Mentoring To Adams & Enoch

Sterling Gibbs hasn’t been a member of the UConn Huskies men’s basketball program for all that long himself. But since he is in his graduate year and fourth year of playing college basketball, he is being a mentor this season to freshman point guard Jalen Adams.

Amida Brimah is in his third year of being a part of the UConn’s men’s basketball team and this season he is also being a mentor to Norwalk, CT native Steve Enoch.

With Gibbs and Brimah advising the younger Adams and Enoch, they’ll be able to learn how to conduct themselves on and off the court in regards to everything, not just basketball. It’s definitely not an uncommon thing to see and will only benefit the young freshman for years to come.

After Saturday’s exhibition win over the UNH Chargers, head coach Kevin Ollie as well as Adams and Enoch talked about Gibbs and Brimah being mentors.

Experimental Rules in Play For UConn Huskies Women’s Basketball Today

When the UConn women’s basketball team takes the Gampel Pavilion court this afternoon, it may look a little different than we are used to seeing. The lane will be four feet wider going from 12 feet to 16 feet. Plus the three-point arc will be 22 feet one inch instead of the normal 20 feet […]

Watch and/or listen below as UConn football coach Bob Diaco talks about the Tulane’s defensive front:

Video: UConn Huskies Football Third In Country With 16 Interceptions

When you take a look at the national statistics for interceptions, you will find the UConn Huskies football program third with 16 on the season.

They’ve gotten five from Jamar Summers, three from Jhavon Williams and two each from the safeties in Obi Melifonwu and Andrew Adams. They’ve also gotten picks from linebackers Marquise Vann and Junior Joseph.

So what is the reason for all the interceptions?

UConn football head coach Bob Diaco explains below:
