More on the NBA GM Survey!

Tonight let’s take an in-depth look at ten of the questions and answers on the annual NBA.com General Manager’s survey.  There is some interesting stuff here, and obviously all 30 of these guys know something about basketball (Larry Bird, Danny Ainge, Doc Rivers, Pat Riley, and Phil Jackson). So, while we respect their take on […]

Survey Says : NBA.COM GM Survey

Just five more days until the NBA season’s tip off with three games – the Hawks versus the Pistons, the Cavs versus Chicago, and the Warriors hosting the Pelicans, where the Warriors receive their “Rings.”  However, before the season starts, let’s look at the predictions and rankings from the NBA’s 30 General Managers in the […]

Sweet Dreams are Made of This

Just one more week – seven days – until the NBA season’s tip off with three games – the Hawks versus the Pistons, the Cavs versus Chicago, and the Warriors hosting the Pelicans, where the Warriors receive their “Rings.”  However, before we talk about this 2015-2016 NBA season, let’s talk about the “Dream Team.”

Best Team Players Inside and Outside

Who are the NBA’s all-time best team players, inside (the 4 or the 5) and outside (the 1, the 2, or the 3)?  We are not talking about the NBA MVP category, which is a whole different statistical category with different criteria. Rather, we want to determine statistically the best inside team player and the […]

Best Inside and Outside

Who is the NBA’s all-time best inside (the 4 or the 5) player? Who’s the NBA’s all-time best outside (the 1, the 2, or the 3) player?  We are not talking about the NBA MVP category, which is a whole different statistical category. Instead we want to determine statistically the best inside player and the […]

We are less than two weeks away from the start of the 2015-2016 NBA season. On October 27th, that first magical night of basketball, we have three games: the Hawks host the Pistons, the Cavs travel to Chicago, and the Warriors will host the Pelicans. Can’t hardly wait. But tonight I’d like to talk about […]

Derrick Rose has been in the news a lot lately, what with the alleged sexual assault and the broken orbital bone suffered in practice. First-year coach Fred Hoiberg is still hoping for Rose’s return before October 27, when the Bulls open their season against archrival Cleveland and LeBron James.

NBA’s 50 Greatest by Position

Tonight we’ll see the NBA’s 50 Greatest Player’s relative rankings by position after averaging all six statistical categories previously discussed to produce a numerical average where, like golf, the lowest score equals the best rank. This list was released in 1996, so none of today’s greats are on it. In one way, we’ll be comparing […]

Who Chose NBA’s 50 Greatest?

Ever wonder who chose the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players? As we know, this list was released in 1996 by then NBA Commissioner David Stern, so none of today’s greats are on it. Since it was released in 1996 we have seen ten new MVP award winners:

Who’s the Best?

Tonight we’ll see the NBA’s 50 Greatest Player’s relative rankings after averaging all six statistical categories previously discussed to produce a numerical average where, like golf, the lowest score equals the best rank. There aren’t any surprises on this list, and the “top ten” includes three centers, four guards, and three forwards.

NBA’s 50 Greatest by MVPs and Rings

Tonight let’s look at the NBA’s Fifty Greatest Players from two more perspectives – NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards won and NBA Championships (Rings) won. Remember, this list was released by then NBA Commissioner David Stern in 1996, so none of today’s greats are on this list.  These two categories are highly subjective, even […]
