The MLB Playoffs are down to four teams with the Championship Series taking place. There are MLB playoff predictions happening for each game but there are also needs to be a broader look taken at each team and why there still is hope to win the World Series.
Lets breakdown each team and why they can still win the World Series.
Washington Nationals
The Washington Nationals currently seem to be in the best spot to win the World Series just based on odds.
The biggest reason this team can win the title is their pitching. Through the first two games against the Cardinals they four hits and one run total. Not just in one game but those stats are through two games.
Max Scherzer is still one of the best pitchers in the league, and he is stepping up to the plate big.
Houston Astros
Why the Astros can win the World Series is very simple, talent wise they are the best team left. They have a good offense and their pitching staff top to bottom is lights out.
The Astros starting rotation is Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander, and Zack Greinke. It doesn’t matter what offense they play, that pitching staff has the advantage.
With the long ball not flying as much as it was during the regular season, that gives them an even bigger advantage.
New York Yankees
The Yankees don’t have the best starting rotation but overall they probably have the best stand alone offense.
Aaron Judge, Gincarlo Stanton, Gleyber Torres, DJ LeMathieu and the list goes on and on. During the regular season the Yankees offense made up for some of the pitching struggles, and if the ball starts to fly, they very well could be the favorites to get the job done.
They also took one game in Houston which means they actually own the home field advantage now.
