Chelsea’s board will be pleased with the start Frank Lampard has made to his career at his b beloved club where he owns legendary status – secured Champions League Football by finishing 3rd in the Premier League, a couple domestic cup finals and also a team that seems to have a togetherness that any winning sides needs. But can this coming season be the season where Chelsea can try and challenge for the title again?

Lampard will know that success doesn’t come over night, especially with having a career that he had to work incredibly hard personally to get to the heights that he did, but he knows that taking risks and gambling (like he has done this season) will eventually pay off.

Success for Chelsea is now likely to continue and punters have already started supporting the markets for this success, such as for the Premier league title. With the season now drawing to a close, punters have also started betting on sites here – which have continued to see a surge in players, with this trend likely to continue on the run up to the next domestic Premier league season.

In his first season, Lampard had a bit of a free pass having a transfer ban and losing their best player in Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, so Frank exceeded expectations with the squad he had.  Frank will undeniably have to improve the squad to be able to be challenging alongside the current big hitters in Liverpool and Manchester City and from what we’ve seen already in the transfer window; Lampard isn’t messing around and means business.

Having signed Hakim Ziyech in January and with him just joining up with this squad now, this can be the replacement for Hazard’s creativity and link-up play they have been missing in the final third. With 10 goals and 16 assists in 36 games this season, he is the signing that Frank will be most excited about.

However, in argument to that, signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig for a reported £49million is a serious statement to the rest of the Premier League. Only losing out to being top scorer in the Bundesliga to Lewandowski, Werner’s ice-cool finishing, direct running and unselfishness is something that Chelsea fans really should be excited by.

Finally, the only issue now that might be holding back Lampard’s charge for the title is their defence. Issues throughout the season have always point to their defence and even world record fee goal-keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Rumour has it, Chelsea now want to secure the signings for Jan Oblak and Ben Chilwell but to me I believe they need two other centre back’s to put them in contention for title challengers. Nevertheless, it’s exciting times at Chelsea FC and we certainly are excited to see how it unfold.
