You have to admire Chad Johnson’s persistence.
The former NFL player hasn’t played in an NFL game since the 2011 season ended, but he stated on Twitter multiple times that he can still play in the league. When that didn’t work out for him, Johnson just straight up asked the Browns for a job as a receivers coach.
He just casually sent a tweet to the team, asking if head coach Hue Jackson would allow him to work out with the team’s receivers. Johnson is like the confident guy that walks into a big Wall Street firm’s building and just asks for a job on the spot.
@Browns Can you ask Hue if I can come in & work with the receivers, thanks.

Gonna ask Hue if I can join the Browns coaching staff as a "route running specialist" assistant receiver coach, what's the worse he can say.

And it seems that his pitch worked! The Browns have a young receiving corps, so having a veteran like Johnson show them the ropes and help fine-tune their route running makes sense.
What a blessing Hue Jackson is, see y'all in Cleveland on the 28th, no cleats this time just knowledge

Johnson was an excellent route runner during his time in the league, so this actually makes a lot of sense, and wouldn’t be surprised if it comes to fruition. It’ll be good to have “Ochocinco” back in the NFL landscape, he’s entertaining, if anything.
