Jason Avant lays out to make spectacular diving catch

The Kansas City Chiefs were in desperate need of a first down fighting for their playoff lives in Saturday’s AFC Divisional Round matchup, and wide receiver Jason Avant delivered in a big way.

Faced with a 4th-and-8 situation late in the fourth quarter, trailing 27-13, the Chiefs needed to move the chains, so of course they looked to Avant. He had already made a few big catches earlier in the game, and was leading the team in receiving yards at that time.

Alex Smith had just enough time to avoid the pressure and fired a bullet over the middle to Avant. The veteran receiver put it all on the line and laid out to make a fantastic diving catch to move the chains.

Avant finished the game with four catches for 69 yards.
