WWE Misses Golden Opportunity

This year’s WrestleMania card has its share of skepticism attached to it. When WWE has the chance to create a moment that will go a long way with getting their apparent chosen one over to a crowd that just loves to boo, they have to pounce on it!

Last Monday…opportunity missed!

Based on what happened on Raw this past Monday, the writers knew two things were going to happen that night. First, Dolph Ziggler would have a match with Triple H in which Dolph would be able to pick his WrestleMania match if he won. Second, Roman Reigns would be making his return after being out a few weeks.

I don’t know if you have caught on to this yet, but WWE really wants Reigns to be their next top star. Another somewhat hidden fact, the WWE Universe is having a bit of a hard time buying into that. With the two aforementioned facts that the writing staff knew about, there was a chance to help fix this!

On Raw, Ziggler and The Game had an outstanding one on one match that ended with a pedigree and a clean win for the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion. After the match, Reigns’ came down and delivered a beating to Triple H that took the two to the backstage area and ended up putting six staples in the champ’s head.

OK, pretty good segment, but it could have been MUCH better. Ziggler is in need of something for his career, and the fan’s know it! What should have been done on Monday is simple. Instead of Reigns coming down after the match, have him come down DURING the match. Triple H gets distracted and Dolph rolls the game up for a quick pin and the crowd erupts!

THEN Reigns should have come down and commence with the beating that we saw on Monday. The crowd would have already been in a positive mood a COO beat down would have just continued the ovation.

Time is running out. There are more negative previews for this year’s Showcase of the Immortals than there are positive ones. Things need to happen. WWE had a golden opportunity to get a crowd reaction they have been seeking for months! Simply put, they blew it. Just two Raw’s left. There is not a lot of room left to miss opportunities like this!
