Predicting the Six NXT Draft Picks

Happy Draft Day!

We have a Draft Date – Tonight on the first SmackDown Live.

We have our main even for the evening – A Championship rematch between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins after last night’s beyond confusing ending to Raw

We have our General Managers – Mick Foley has returned to head up Raw and Daniel Bryan leads the Yes Movement on SmackDown Live.

And as of yesterday, we have our Draft guidelines, which include the inclusion of six picks from the NXT roster.

Personally, I would rather have seen NXT picks just randomly, and unexpectedly, thrown in throughout the night, but nonetheless we will get a bit of an influx off future stars on the main rosters.

Since the announcement, so many have taken to social media to suggest who those six stars will be. And with tag teams being able to be drafted together, we may see more than just six individuals brought up.

So, in no particular order, let’s take a look at our prediction for those who will fill the six NXT Draft slots.

FINN BALOR

Simply put, I don’t think there would be a more disappointing surprise tonight if FinnBalor isn’t finally brought to the main show. Balor has dominated as champion in NXT since his 2014 arrival. This shouldn’t be a question of if he is drafted – more so a question on whether he will be joining a certain Club or not.

SHINSUKE NAKAMURA

The King of Strong Style has only been in NXT, and in the country for that Shinsuke-Nakamuramatter, just a few months. Since then, though, he has created such a strong following. This is a following that he has had for years all over the world. Plus, financially, with the money that Nakamura is rumored to be making he will be on the main roster sooner rather than later.

BAYLEY

So, everything you just read about Balor being in NXT long enough and has beenbayley ready to come up for a long time…yeah…that! Bayley has been the head of the Womans division for a long time now. It’s time to see what she can do when those wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men rise up on the main stage.

NIA JAX

The Womans division haNia_Jax_in_Blacksn’t had a dominant force since the failed Kharma project. Jax is more than capable of filling that role. I heard an idea on Twitter recently suggest a new heel stable, The Family, with The Usos and Roman Reigns. I would love to see that!

AMERICAN ALPHA

I threw a poll out on Twitter before WrestleMania asking who was a more 1212popular tag team in NXT, Enzo & Cass or American Alpha. The results were just about 50/50. Chad Gable and Jason Jordan have found their niche as strong technicians and entertaining backstage characters. They are indeed ready, willing…and Gable to make an impact on the main roster. (yeah…had to)

THE REVIVAL

I’m having a hard time narrowing this last pick down. The feel good pick of Tye 11111Dillinger? Current NXT Champ Samoa Joe? Recent big name signings Austin Aries or Bobby Roode? I think The Revival get the nod though. Their in-ring style is a perfect contradiction to the high flying style that seems to be the “it” things these days. Dash and Dawson would make a lot of sense with this pick here.
