Cavaliers vs. Warriors ticket prices dropping fast

According to ticket prices, the 2016 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are over.

Granted, ticket prices don’t mean everything, but in this case they might—LeBron James and the Cavaliers return home for Game 3 Wednesday in a 2-0 hole after a pair of embarrassing performances.

According to EPSN’s Darren Rovell, ticket prices have taken a nosedive:

Why wouldn’t they? Teams rarely come back from a 2-0 deficit in a seven-game series and losses in 104-89 and 110-77 fashion screams regression, not a series about to get much closer.

Before the stunning series started, TicketNetwork Online Exchange noted that ticket prices compared well to last year’s first meeting between these two sides. Now, though, Stephen Curry and the Warriors have rattled off seven consecutive wins against the Cavaliers with a small-ball lineup and great shooting befit of a champion.

Fans, especially those in Cleveland, don’t have much of a reason to fork over cash for a surprisingly noncompetitive series. The Cavaliers are too slow and don’t have the depth necessary to counter, not to mention they might have to tackle Game 3 without Kevin Love. Heck, the team has yet to be on the receiving end of a good game by Curry.

Wednesday’s seats will get filled no matter what, but Quicken Loans Arena might have more Warriors fans in attendance than anyone could have predicted going into the series.
